I’m Jen of Jennifer Marie Photography. Thank you so much for checking out my website!
As a wildlife photographer, my goal is to always maintain a respectful distance. These are wild animals, and they should remain so. To get them used to, or depending on people is a danger to these creatures as well as a danger to the person. When people stress out wild animals they can react unexpectedly. Leaving food for them sets them up for poachers, accidents, or in the case of “Yogi” the bear, having to be put down because they’ve become a nuisance. I do not photograph wild or domestic animals if I see that they are stressed out. A yawn, noise, and even a slight wag of a tail are all signs of stress. No photo is worth it. As much as I may want that shot, I will walk away. As well, I never say or tag where a photo was taken if it’s an endangered animal. And I don’t just mean on a list somewhere. Bobcats and Coyotes are two big targets for “wacking”, contest killings, and pelts. I adore these misunderstood creatures and will not indicate where they were photographed to the public. I also post if I’ve photographed animals in a zoo. I think that’s important as these animals will often act differently around me than a wild animal will. But again, the same rules apply. Stressed out? Walk away. Please keep all of this in mind when going out with your camera or just a nice nature hike. Our neighbors will thank you for it.
I am a disabled artist/photographer. I was just recently diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and had to retire from my job working at Renaissance Festivals across the country. Lucky for me, it gives me a lot more time to work on my photography. I sell prints of my photos as well as non-folding art cards based on my pictures. These are non-AI and are on high-quality card stock. I am also the creator of Bob the bug. I like to do realistic photography as well as creative editing of my photography. I am on Facebook, Instagram, Cara and Vero. I also have a Redbubble shop at Bobthebug.redbubble.com. I have limited designs and a ton of products; clothing, notebooks, blankets, etc., with more in the works. I’m on Patreon. patreon.com/JenniferMariePhotography. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this, Patreon is yet another way to support artists. For example, maybe you don’t have a lot of room for art or material things, but you want to support the arts. You can support me for as little as $1 a month. I only have 3 tiers. $1 for my tip jar. $5 for a cup of coffee and $20 supporter level. All of these levels support me and my art without actually having to purchase stuff. You also get to see new prints before anybody else as well as see what I’m up to and new projects. Last but not least, you can buy me a coffee at https://buymeacoffee.com/jandersen19. Please check out the QR code below to my digital business card for links to all of the above mentioned.
